Now Hiring Welder/Fabricator at Northland Staffing Solutions

Primarily welds stainless steel pipe with Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding equipment as specified by engineered drawings or work order.

Responsibilities of the Tig Welder:

  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings.
  • Grinds and cuts metal to appropriate sizes.
  • Sets-up production area to maximize efficiency.
  • Creates jigs when production quantities determine a need.
  • Follows the Company’s welding procedure specification to ensure conformity between all welds.
  • Safely moves gas cylinders and attaches them to fabrication equipment.
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.
  • Removes and/or repairs any irregularities from the weld before continuing the fabrication process.
  • Cleans or degreases parts.

Requirements of the Tig Welder:

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Welding certification is preferred.
  • Ability to become ASME certified during the first few weeks (certification is supplied and paid for by Company). Candidate must be able to pass a 3” 304 sch. 40 6g pipe test and a 1⁄2” 304 sch. 10 6g pipe test.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents .
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Pay: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour
